Welcome To The Clute Visitor's Bureau

Clute, Texas, home of The Great Texas Mosquito Festival, is located just 45 minutes away from Houston. The annual celebration has gained national recognition and attracts thousands of visitors from all over the country. Half-seriously referred to as "The Texas State Bird", the Mosquito is an excuse for residents to join in on three days of fun and games. Port Freeport and the area beaches that line the Gulf of Mexico are within five minutes of Clute.

On June 6, 2012, www.TripAdvisor.com rated the "Great Texas Mosquito Festival" the wackiest summer festival in the United States".

The Center for the Arts and Sciences is home to the Brazosport Art League, the Brazosport Museum of Natural Science, the Brazosport Planetarium, and Brazosport Center Stages. The Center, built for the cultural enrichment of Southern Brazoria County, offers a wealth of educational and artistic opportunities. The Museum includes the most extensive collection of shells in the South, a life-size dinosaur replica, exhibits of wildlife, rocks, minerals, archeology & fossils. The Gallery features changing exhibits of original art. Center Stages presents live plays and musicals, and the Planetarium, live astronomy shows under a 32" domed ceiling.

Mammoth Lake Scuba Park, Texas’ newest and largest dive-specific lake, offers 55 acres of clear water for scuba enthusiasts. Divers will have an immense range of objects to dive around, including an F-5 jet, wrecked boats, submarine, antique fire truck, a Colombian mammoth replica and a cave system. New to the collection of artifacts is an F-150 Hercules airplane.
