Clute residents know the value of quiet living near the largest city in Texas.  Less than an hour south of Houston and even closer to Galveston, this community offers a lot of small-town safety and geographical convenience

In 2003, the remains of two mammoths were discovered in Clute.  This was the first major find of its kind in the Texas Gulf Coast region and has put Clute on the archaeological map.  "Joe Mammoth" and "Asiel", as the mammoths have been named, join "Willie Manchew", as the mascot of the city's ambassadors.

The City of Clute and the surrounding area offers deep-sea fishing, bay fishing, and crabbing.  Dive at Mammoth Lake Dive Park.  Visit the Center for the Arts & Sciences which houses the larges seashell collection in the south.
 

There are many historical museums, markers, historical cemetaries for the history buffs.  Many miles of clean beaches for great family fun.

Clute is located within one hour of major colleges, major airports, and just minutes from international companies such as The Dow Chemical Company, ConocoPhillips and BASF Corporation.
